6 Tricks for More Event Sales

When starting out in event sales it can be challenging to decide what to say and who to say it to. Here are a few tips from our Field Specialist to simplify your process so you don’t overthink it and miss out on potential sales.

  1. Talk to EVERY person that comes within eyesight of your setup. The sales are not going to walk up and fall in your lap.

  2. Do things to get people’s attention. Move around, dance, talk loudly, make jokes, smile and wave at anyone that drives by.

  3.  NEVER rule someone out as a customer based off their looks.

  4. If someone has made it clear they aren’t interested, use them to generate a new lead! Find out who they know that does need your service.

  5. Interact with nearby store managers and workers. (Go buy lunch from the hotdog stand on the corner, for example.) Make sure they know what you have to offer and what your schedule is so they can tell people when and where to find you.

  6. Don’t be a broken record. If your pitch isn’t working and you’re struggling to get anyone to show initial interest, start with a new icebreaker, word your question differently, find a few things that work for you to say and begin to perfect them.

A very simple way to summarize these 6 tricks of this is to leave no stone unturned.

If you think about how many people pass by every time you set up, it makes sense that at least one of those people needs what you have to offer. However, if you aren’t making the effort to talk to every single person you will likely miss out on sales!
